Workforce and Area Development Programs
Horry County is home to Coastal Carolina University and Horry Georgetown Technical College. Each year, these institutions award 2,100 bachelor’s degrees, 180 master’s degrees, 1,300 associate’s degrees, and 1,400 technical certificates. Workforce development programs in machine operations, C&C welding, robotics, and engineering also help train and ready potential talent for manufacturing jobs throughout Horry County and Myrtle Beach.
Horry Georgetown Technical College recently completed two Advanced Manufacturing Centers. The Conway location is a 25,000 sq. ft. and offers programs in Advanced Welding Technologies, Machine Tool Technology, and Machine Tool Operations programs. The Georgetown campus is a 30,000 sq. ft. facility and offers programs in Advanced Welding Technologies, Machine Tool Technology, and the Mechatronics Technology.
