In 2022, the MBREDC Board of Directors approved a five-year strategic plan that will continue to move our organization forward. The plan outlines three major initiatives:
- To recruit and retain high quality industries to generate jobs for the citizens of Horry County, resulting in an annual increase of 175 full-time jobs and at least $5 million in private capital investment (stretch goals: 225 full-time jobs, $10 million in investment)
- To provide a variety of high quality economic development products (sites and buildings) that attract new and existing industries
- To have the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation be recognized as a leader in economic development within Horry County and throughout South Carolina
